Big Farm Mobile Harvest is a free-to-play farming simulation game developed by Goodgame Studios. Falling under the casual and simulation genres, the game allows players to manage and expand their own virtual farm by growing crops, raising animals, and completing various tasks to earn rewards and build a thriving agricultural enterprise.

Unlocking New Revenue Streams Through Offerwall Integration
The challenge

New Moon Production (Stillfront Group) was looking for new ways to grow ad revenue in their game Big Farm: Mobile Harvest without jeopardizing user experience. Their ad monetization setup was already mature, with both rewarded video ads and interstitial ads implemented. On top of that, their users were already engaging with existing ad formats in line with the industry benchmark across numerous placements, which made finding a new opportunity even more challenging.

The solution

Given the current state of ad monetization, highly engaging game mechanics with deep economy dynamics, and strong IAP economy driven by users’ desire to play and spend more, we recommended offerwall as a new ad revenue source - an ad format not previously used by New Moon Production and Goodgame Studios. Our recommendations were focused on finding the appropriate, highly visible entry points that will not disrupt users’ interactions with existing IAP offerings, properly segmenting users, setting up the exchange rate that will yield the best results, and sharing other industry best practices to ensure no negative impact on retention or IAPs.

The results

The offerwall helped achieve revenue targets with no negative impact on key game metrics, generating 15% of overall ad revenue on Android for Big Farm: Mobile Harvest . Furthermore, offerwall provided a new source of in-game currency for about 5% of Daily Active Users while driving a significant value for the studio. Additionally, we worked on optimizing the implementation, adding more entry points and successfully implementing offerwall currency sale events. These resulted in temporary offerwall revenue boosts ranging between +35% and 112%, depending on the sale. Later, offerwall was successfully introduced into another hit farm simulation game developed by New Moon Production and Goodgame Studios, Sunshine Island.
